Osteoarthritis And Cartilage Breakdown

Osteoarthritis of the knee is a degenerative joint disease which is characterised by inflammation and loss of the lining cartilage. Osteoarthritis is associated with an increase in catabolic pro-inflammatory cytokines (“bad proteins”) which contribute to cartilage matrix breakdown. As this breakdown increases the knee becomes increasingly arthritic and usually, symptoms will increase.

How The N-STRIDE APS Injection Works

The n-STRIDE APS injection aims to target this imbalance by using the patient’s own blood to concentrate anti-inflammatory cytokines and anabolic growth factors (“good proteins”) returning them to the site of the insult within the knee.

How Is The Treatment Performed?

The treatment is performed following the withdrawal of a small volume of the patients’ blood which is then centrifuged and processed to produce the n-STRIDE APS intraarticular injection. This is then injected into the knee offering anti-inflammatory effects, pain reduction and promoting cartilage health. It is effectively designed to deliver an output that targets the source of osteoarthritis symptoms and provides cartilage health, potentially delaying costly and painful surgery.

Relief From Osteoarthritis Pain Without Surgery

There are currently no disease-modifying treatments proved for the management of osteoarthritis and there is a growing treatment gap for patients with moderate to severe osteoarthritis who refuse or are not candidates for surgical intervention. There is, therefore, a need for newer therapies that address the underlying disease process and delay or preclude the need for joint replacement surgery. As our understanding of the underlying molecular abnormalities of osteoarthritis grows, more targeted treatment options may be developed to meet this requirement.

There are now good early clinical studies available demonstrating the safety and efficacy of n-STRIDE APS, demonstrating a clinical reduction in pain and improvement in wellness scores.

"Amazing! Incredulous! Miraculous! These are just a few of my friends and family comments following the n-STRIDE procedure on my knee. Thank-you so much Professor Jari and your team for changing my life so much, and for doing it with such efficiency and care. It is hard to believe that just 4 weeks ago I could hardly walk at all and that each step I took was with maximum pain. Almost immediately I got some benefit but it wasn’t until 3 1/2 weeks post, what I have to say is an amazingly simple procedure, did I notice just how much a difference it made when I realised I had just gone downstairs in a normal fashion not the previous stilted version, and felt no pain at all. Now 4 weeks on I feel I have a ‘normal’ knee. No pain and a full range of pain free movement. So even though words could never be enough to tell you how grateful I am and how wonderful the n-STRIDE procedure is. THANK YOU"
