Common conditions treated by Professor Jari

Mr Jari is a sub-specialty trained Lower Limb Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon. He routinely treats patients (and athletes) with problems of the foot and ankle including:

  • Bunion deformities of the feet
  • Big toe pain and/or stiffness
  • Arthritis of the big and smaller toes
  • Morton’s Neuromas (pins & needles in the toes)
  • Ankle pain
  • Ankle ligament sprains and tears causing giving way of the ankle
  • Achilles tendonitis (calf/heel pain)
  • Plantar fasciitis (heel pain in the sole of the foot)
  • Subluxing peroneal tendons (snapping of tendons on the outer side of the ankle after an injury/sprain causing the tendons to flick over the bone due to a tear of the restraining ligament)

Some of the common procedures to treat these problems include:

  • Arthroscopy (key-hole surgery) of the ankle and big toe
  • Correction of bunions
  • Ligament reconstructions
  • Hyaluronic acid injections into joints (ankle, big toe)
  • Injections for tendonitis
  • Cortisone injection
