Foot and Ankle Conditions

Anatomy & Function

Mr Jari is a sub-specialty trained Lower Limb Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon. He routinely treats patients (and athletes) with problems of the foot and ankle including:

– Bunion deformities of the feet
– Big toe pain and/or stiffness
– Arthritis of the big and smaller toes
– Morton’s Neuromas (pins & needles in the toes)
– Ankle pain
– Ankle ligament sprains and tears causing giving way of the ankle
– Achilles tendonitis (calf / heel pain)
– Plantar fasciitis (heel pain in the sole of the foot)
– Subluxing peroneal tendons (snapping of tendons on the outer side of the ankle after an injury/sprain causing the tendons to flick over the bone due to a tear of the restraining ligament)

Some of the common procedures to treat these problems include:

– Arthroscopy (key-hole surgery) of the ankle and big toe
– Correction of bunions
– Ligament reconstructions
– Hyaluronic acid injections into joints (ankle, big toe)
– Injections for tendonitis
– Cortisone injection
