Knee investigationsOnce the history and examination have been performed on the patient, in 80-85% of cases, the diagnosis should have been made. The purpose of further investigations is therefore three-fold, - To confirm or refute the diagnosis that has been made.
- In the minority of cases where a clear diagnosis has not been made, but a list of differential diagnoses have been made by your surgeon, further investigations will then allow an accurate diagnosis to be defined from the differential diagnoses that have been made.
- Investigations can also be used to monitor preparation for surgery as well as post-operative rehabilitation and provide data for readiness to return to function, activity and sports. This group of investigations would comprise primarily the KT1000 and isokinetic dynamometer.
