Knee Investigations

Knee investigations

Once the history and examination have been performed on the patient, in 80-85% of cases, the diagnosis should have been made.  The purpose of further investigations is therefore three-fold,

  1.  To confirm or refute the diagnosis that has been made.
  2.  In the minority of cases where a clear diagnosis has not been made, but a list of differential diagnoses have been made by your surgeon, further investigations will then allow an accurate diagnosis to be defined from the differential diagnoses that have been made.
  3. Investigations can also be used to monitor preparation for surgery as well as post-operative rehabilitation and provide data for readiness to return to function, activity and sports.  This group of investigations would comprise primarily the KT1000 and isokinetic dynamometer.
